Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out of network provider, which means I do not accept insurance at this time. Clients can receive superbills to submit for potential reimbursement. Please check your out of network benefits by consulting with your insurer or viewing your individual plan.
Being an out of network provider allows me to focus all of my energy on gathering resources for each client, collaborating with professionals who can increase client wellbeing, and sharpening my clinical skills.
What does a session with you typically look like?
I usually start by briefly summarizing last session, or reviewing coping skills the client used between sessions. I’ll check if the client wants to continue with that topic. If they do, we’ll start there. If they don’t, we’ll go to what feels pressing to them in that moment.
After we’ve identified the topic, I’ll guide clients to notice what kind of physical sensations they notice related to that topic - and that opens the door to experiential work. Whether we do parts work, brainspotting, or an artistic activity, the goal is to engage both mind and body in session.
How are telehealth visits held?
I meet with clients virtually through my Electronic Health Record called Sessions Health. This provides a more secure method of meeting. Clients will receive my reusable link upon registration as a new client.
How much do sessions cost?
I charge 190$ for intakes, and 160$ for follow up sessions.
How do I know therapy is working?
Many clients report ‘feeling the effects’ of therapy when they feel an increased ability to tolerate feelings, increased mental clarity, and increased sense of meaning in their life. Because each journey is unique, your personal benchmark to ‘feeling better’ may be different than others. Checking in with your counselor about how well you think therapy is going is essential to keeping therapy effective.
